1. Journal of Information System and Artificial Intelligence (JISAI) permits the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, provided that their use is transparent, subject to human oversight, and consistent with research integrity and publication ethics.
  2. Authorship and Responsibility: AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the entire manuscript, including any AI-assisted content. Authors must verify all statements, citations, calculations, and interpretations.
  3. Disclosure of AI Use: Authors must disclose the use of generative AI for drafting, rewriting, translating, summarizing, or otherwise generating manuscript content. The disclosure must identify the tool, its version where available, and the purpose of its use. It must be provided at submission and included in a section titled *“Declaration of AI Use”* before the references. Basic spelling and grammar checks that do not generate substantive content do not require disclosure.
  4. AI Used in Research: When AI is used for data processing, analysis, coding, modeling, or other research procedures, its use must be described in the *Methods* section with sufficient detail to support evaluation and reproducibility. This requirement also applies when AI is the subject of the research.
  5. Prohibited Practices: AI must not be used to fabricate or falsify data, findings, references, or research evidence. AI-generated or modified images must not be presented as authentic observations. Synthetic data or images used legitimately in research must be clearly identified and explained in the Methods section.
  6. Confidentiality and Data Protection: Authors must protect personal, confidential, and copyrighted material when using AI tools. Editors and reviewers must not upload manuscripts or related confidential materials to AI services where confidentiality cannot be assured without the authors’ explicit permission. Reviewers must obtain editorial approval before using AI to assist their review and disclose how it was used. Editorial decisions and scholarly assessments remain the responsibility of human editors and reviewers.
  7. Non-Compliance: Undisclosed or inappropriate AI use will be assessed by the editorial team. Depending on the nature and severity of the breach, the journal may request clarification or revision, reject the manuscript, or issue a correction or retraction after publication.
